As it turned out today, it's O2 UK's new Xda Argon - a Windows Mobile 5.0-based Pocket PC Phone Edition which clearly follows in the tradition of the O2 Xda IIi (aka HTC Himalaya). Looks like it's nothing special except the large 3.5" touchscreen and the two megapixel camera."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/hisham-20070505-o2_argon_side.jpg" /><br /><br />Unless you've got a bout of nostalgia and can live without EDGE or 3G, the Argon isn't a terribly interesting device - a budget phone with the focus more on PDA functions. Move along folks, nothing to see here.

Am I the only one, who is so exicted to see this device?
I have always yearned for the big screen(does not matter, if its QVGA) phone editions. ATM, I have universal, which is indeed a little on the heavier side. But, I carry it because I read a lot. Though, I dont do much data input.

Personally, I always adored the himalaya/alpine style. Those devices had no moving sliders(which got loose after 1-2months)(yep, I have a BA twice). I have always liked simple designs. Guess what? My request fullfilled by O2.

PS: first, I saw people with HTC alpine yammering why they didnt get the WM5 upgrade. Now, the Argon(HTC panda) owners will complain, why they didnt get WM6 :?:

edit: where can I get its full specs?

I agree with pocketpcadmirer, I would like to see more 3.5" screen, keyboardless phones, I do a lot of reading and navigation with TomTom, and use fitaly, so no need for a keyboard :-) It's a shame it lacks 3G... I guess I have to wait for the HTC 6500 (aka HTC Sirius)...

Edit: HTC Panda specs at pdadb.net: http://www.pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&amp;id=735&amp;view=1
