What version of A/S are you using? You generally need 4.2 or higher

Using
4.5
Can you provide more details? When you attach your device, do you connect? Do files sync? etc.

Gosh, that's what's happening to me right now. It's totally weird, I installed Office 2007 yesterday and I can't get the darn thing to sync anymore.
I upgraded Activesync to 4.5 and set up a new partnership, like normal. The computer recognized my pocket pc like usually. It asked if I wanted to combine or replace the info. I told him to replace the info on my ppc with the stuff on my desktop. It works and works and works and then everything peachy.
Then I add a new appointment on my desktop Outlook. It doesn't sync. I try again. I reboot. I soft reset. Nothing. I add a test address. No sync. No error messages either. Just no communication.
Crap.

Ah, and btw: I does work from ppc to desktop, just not the other way around, meaning, if I create an appointment on my ppc, in syncs to the desktop, but if I create an appointment on my computer, it doesn't sync to the ppc. What gives??

I just found this http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.pocketpc.activesync/browse_thread/thread/34ceac10af71a5d6/6816d1fb06134df0?lnk=st&q=PPC+office+2007+activesync&rnum=3#6816d1fb06134df0
Take a look at the last post. Maybe that is the answer.

Yeah, I stumbled over that as well. Tried it, no chance.
Uninstalled Office 2007 in the meantime, re-installed 2003 and it still doesn't work.

Well, since you found that one, you probably found this one too http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.outlook.general/browse_thread/thread/786b0ae9bf27eed9/a1ad520a7205f8f5?lnk=st&q=PPC+office+2007+activesync&rnum=4#a1ad520a7205f8f5, but just in case. This one makes references to a "trust center" in Outlook?
I don't imagine that unistalling would do much as I am sure Outlook left pieces of itself behind.
When I first got a device with WM5 (I use Outlook 2003) I had a heck of a time connecting, but I can't remember how I fixed it. But as you presumably synced fine with Outlook '03 before it probably is not the same issue.

At home it works... with AS 4.2! 8O Except for the appointments I created today at work, they don't sync. Everything else is fine, from both ends.
Man, I am so ready for a Mac.

When you say appointments created at work do not sync, where are the appointments created (PPC or PC)? I am thinking PPC as you said earlier that the PPC will sycn over to the PC but not vice versa?
Are you using AS 4.5 at work? Vista or XP at work/home?

The appointments at work are synching when I create them on the PPC. If I create them on the PC, Activesync does its thing (the green symbol is whirling around on the desktop and the synching icon on the ppc is moving as well, but no information shows up on the ppc.
EXCEPT notes. They work fine.
Work: XP Pro (tried 4.2 and 4.5, no success)
Home: XP Home (tried only 4.2 and works fine)

I finally remembered what my syncing problem was some time ago. Since your worked at one time, I don't know that this will be the answer, but what the heck :)
The PC I was syncing with used a static IP so I had disabled the DHCP services. Re-enabled and bang, I was in business. Before I did that my "green circle" would just circle forever.

Naah, my green circle doesn't circle forever. It syncs, it stops, and it says everything peachy, except it isn't. :)

OK, time to get a Mac. :D I know it can be a pain when sycning with two PCs (I wish MS let you "override desktop" like Palm), but maybe the next step is to backup your PPC and then deleting the partnership on one of the PCs and recreating it.

:? Oh, I did that too yesterday. It completely screwed up everything. I ended up having to hard reset last night (and yes, the backup from Spb did NOT work.. :(
Well, synching still works fine on my home computer with Outlook 2007, let's hope something has changed at work too. I am thinking not, but I won't know before Monday.
This is crazy. There is NOTHING about this on MS anywhere. There are a lot of people who have the same problem, and there is NO reaction from Microsoft. That's crazy.
Mactime.

Of course the benefit of staying with MS is that at least it is the devil that you know. I know what you are saying when you say MS is being quiet. Maybe there is something out there, but I searched the knowledge base and saw zip on this. Have you tried posting in any of the Google Groups? Maybe you will get lucky and it will start working at work. :)

Well;
I am sorry that I missed all of the excitement. I am just getting back to check my posts.
I am definately going MAC next time around, and I ma getting an iPhone to go with it. Enough of this PPC crap! I have had so much trouble with mine and it's all up to date. I still have an alarm that goes off at 11:30PM no matter what I do..... And I paid good money for MS to use me as a test bunny. Tired of paying god money for mediocre things!
MY PPC does the same thing. It sync's fine for everything but outlook 2007.
It starts and it stops and works just like everything went fine except it didn't transfer any of my stuff over and vice versa.
When the iPhone comes out, It will do everything that I use my PPC for and I have a hunch that it will do it better. So I am definately migrating over and I won't stop with just the phone.
I do appreciate everyones help here. You have all been more than helpful.
