View Full Version : FlexMail loses all settings...

Hi,

I was wondering if anybody else had this issue with FlexMail:

After a soft reset, or sometimes just after a switch of connections, the program "forgets" all its settings, most notably the complete IMAP account info. Sometimes I am able to enter the information again, but often the program just refuses to accept the entering of a new account: After selecting "Finish" in the dialog, the list only shows the two default accounts (ActiveSync and SMS), but not the new one I had just entered. When I uninstall FlexMail AND manually delete all folders named "WebIS", then re-install, everything seems to be ok for a while, I can enter the account info and it works. But only until the next soft reset. Then all settings all gone again.
I have now re-installed the program three times and the issue comes back again and again. I was extremely pleased with the program (by far the best IMAP client I could find) and happily purchased it, but now I am highly frustrated.

Any advice out there?

I have the same problem with mu HTC 8525. Every time I want to check pop3 email I have to create the account from scratch for as soon as I exit flexmail the account is deleted.

I noticed though that my "Local" folder is also gone. this is apparently where you keep your pop3 account settings etc. would like to know how to get the local folder to reappear.

Hi Richard,
I have solved this problem meanwhile. First I tried to uninstall and reinstall, but that didn't help. What I had to do was:
- uninstall the program
- delete all remaining folders named WebIS
- edit the registry and delete all WebIS entries
- install again (on the device, not on a storage card)

Since then, Flexmail works fine and without any issues for me. I believe the problem was that in my first installation I had installed it on the storage card. The un-installa didn't clean the registry. So even after I reinstalled the program on the device, the false registry entries made the program look for the account settings on the storage card.

Let me know if cleaning the registry works for you as well...

Hi

When I started my Flexmail this morning my entire Local Folder has disappeared. Has this got something to do with the Messaging program still installed on my device. If so how do I delete it.

Yesterday I removed Flexmail as it was installed on my storage card and I deleted the registry info and all webis folders etc and installed the program onto my main memory.

Can you help?

Hi Richard,
sorry to hear that you are still having problems. As said, my issues disappeared after I had uninstalled, cleared the registry and installed again (on the device). But I do not use POP anyway, I only have ActiveSync, SMS and IMAP accounts. So I am not using the Local Folder.
