Today, I decided to release it into public. I am not the author. I don’t know the author of this software personally. Those are two programs. RE’s Unlocker (for the slide to unlock the screen) and RE’s Launcher (for the menu). You can download it from my website..."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/parekh-20070409-iPhonePocketPC.gif" /><br /><br />Someone has decided to finally post the iPhone interface software for the Pocket PC; I think it's the same one as what we talked about <a href="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=54134">here</a>, although I haven't played with it. Of particular interest is that the poster is an IP lawyer themselves, and has worked with a graphic artist to design alternative icons (pictured above) to avoid falling foul of Apple's copyrights. I have no idea how long it'll be up or how well it works, but feel free to report back if you decide to give it a try.

Hrm... think I'd better download this now if I feel like trying it in July...
Kudos to him for including the source as well as the executables.

Same here. I was hoping it would be available when the new iMates come out.
And it's nice when a lawyer seems to be working for the good guys for no apparent alterior motive.

I'm happy to see a lawyer trying to do "the right thing" for a change. Power to the people!
Hmmm... It's not formatted for square screens so it won't work on my device-- the bottom half is cut off. Does anyone know of a square screen compatible verison? :?:

Works a treat on my eTEN m600 phone (same phone the software author created it for). Should be good for a laugh of two when the real deal comes out.

I'm unable to get it to work on my Cingular 8525. Error:"Unable to open configuration file." Any ideas how to resolve?

It's a fun novelty item that should get about eight seconds of a rise out of my Appleist (for it is a religion) flatmate.
The Wisbar solution looks nice. And I do own the program and the 'desktop' software, but in the end it was just too much of a faff to configure. When the thing can be installed as sets/themes, then I'll try it again. Right now, it feels as fiddly as attaching tiny sticky-notes to the screen for every feature I want.
Again, the more I use other people's software, the more I appreciate Microsoft's choices in designing their mobile platform.

Where do I find it to download the program to install? I only see the icons and the PPL to compile. Can someone put the direct link unless I overlooked something on the blog?

I get my taskbar showing up on top of the iPhone interface. Anyone else have this issue?

The only problem I have is the time is always two hours ahead in the iPhone interface, but normal on my actual device. Kinda strange.

Yep cutoff on my Treo too :( Not that I would probably use it for more than an hour :P Still pretty nice though.

There is a fix over at xda dev. Check out this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=301517). I haven't really found a need for the launcher but love the slider. I bind it to a button and use it constantly now.

Funny, and I can't explain it fully, but I like the slider too. Unfortunately it takes about 15 seconds to launch on my Toshiba e800. That's a little long to wait for a screen locking application. Cute though. Oh, and it doesn't work for beans on VGA, which I normally run using ozVGA. So yeah, more than 8 seconds' amusement here, but not a lot more. Still, nice proof of skills for Tzywen or whatever his name is.

I'm still with an HP iPAQ h1945 and I just like the slider, too. It took a few hours yesterday to find one that would display the correct time and was not a trial. The only slider that worked correctly for me was post #28 at the other message board and I had to register there to download it.
