For some reason lately, my Cingular 8125 seems to be making and maintaining a GPRS data connection for no reason. I have my POP e-mail account set to fetch my mail every 60 minutes, and that works fine. But a few minutes later, I notice that the connection has been made again.

When I turn the automatic e-mail download off, the device behaves itself. Once I turn it back on, I get the nearly-continuous connection again.

Have I messed up a setting somewhere? Do I recall a setting somewhere that says something like "Disconnect after down/up load complete?"

It will auto disconnect. You may also have some other program that is calling the "net like some RSS reader set to fetch every 15 minutes.
