Ok, yesterday I "discovered" that I could load Skype on my HTC-6700, then turned on my WiFi and called the automated Robot and talked to myself.... wow. That was neat. My main reason for doing this in the time of basically free Nation-wide calling is because I'll be spending 2.5 weeks in Germany/France in May/June. One of my friends spent $800 in roaming last year on the same basic trip, and I will not!
So, my question is since I've not done much (well... any) cafe WiFi-ing, is there a "blanket" way to pay for hotspots if they are not free or do I have to sign up and pay as I go, esp in Europe?

This is so cool.... lol

Thanks!

Carl

Not I know of. There are undoubtedly WiFI providers that you could subcribe to that have large scale implementations such as http://www.thecloud.net/
but there are also free locations and competitors http://www.wififreespot.com/europe.html
