I've used Orb and can attest that it works great (at least as far as stored media is concerned - I'm still waiting for them to fix Orb Secure for webcam access), and calling up your music library on the go is pretty cool. Having said that (and I may be completely clueless about the issues here), I'm not sure what the real attraction here is - if Orb Mycast can deliver the same service, what's the point of having another client even if you are a Winamp user? Orb watches folders you specify, and as long as the format is compatible, the media gets displayed in your MyCast playlists. Can somebody tell me if I'm way off base here?

Not sure what changed in Orb 2, but from my experience in Orb 1 and using WinAmp (yes, I'm old-school when it comes to PC Media players):

If you went through the web interface, you could only queue up folders or playlists. Useful if you've created playlists or have organized everything really well. Not so useful if you have something like a folder of Radio Dramas or similar that really just lump together in a group rather than in albums.

Using the WinAmp plugin for Orb, I was able to select specific songs with a little more ease - still had issues trying to start/stop streaming, but it worked better than browsing the web folders. Very easy to work with because it looked like just another set of media.

I'll have to check this out further to see if there are any other benefits.
