hx4705 will not hard reset

I have an hx4705 that will not soft or hard reset. When trying to hard reset, it just sits on the 'Clearing Data Please Wait" message box. The unit has been having trouble connecting to Activesync and/or WMDC (maybe indicating failure was in progress). Plus, the unit from day one would come up with the backlight off when pressing the power button.

Anyone have any similar experiences? It would be nice to know if the thing is fried or worth repair.

I had a similar problem a while back. If you have a ton of info on your ipaq it will take around 20-30 mins to clear...If you have waited that long get in touch with HP.
