I have an iPAQ 4150 running Windows Mobile 2003.
Microsoft has a Daylight Savings Time patch and HP has a Daylight Savings Time patch. Which should I install? Are there any issues with either (or both)?
Thanks.

Not sure if they're the same or not, but I successfully installed the Microsoft one on an old Dell running WM2003 and it's working just fine. (Had to use the unsigned WM2003 cab file to do it, though. since this person wasn't running AS 4.x.)

Try the HP one. I am having trouble with the MS version. Hasn't switched yet so I'm installing the HP one now.

To back up WyattEarp's statement, I've spoken to a lot of HP users who have experienced issues with Microsoft's patch. Fortunately, HP's patch has worked for them (and I'd be a little worried if it didn't ;) ), so go ahead and install HP's.

Am trying to DST2007 my Dell Axim X5 running PocketPC Ver4.20.1081 When I try to run the Microsoft Setup.msi for DST2007 I get "There is no application associated with this file" so I can't install the fix. Does anyone have any idea what to do next? Dell said "cant help" Microsoft Support said "cant help" Microsoft chatroom for DST said "install VBRegFix: got "this is not a Pocket PC application". Chat then said "this is not a DST problem, go to Microsoft Support. I copied the Setup.msi to my Axim via the Explorer window on my laptop (used cut / paste) over the cable connection.

I DL'd and ran the HP fix but the time hasn't been fixed; do I reinstall or what? How do I get it to switch? I did a reset but that didn't do anything.

BTW I notice that the post times on this forum are also not on DST.

Okay, I've now tried BOTH patches and neither has worked on my HP2215. What do I do now??

Those of you with iPAQs who attempted the HP patch before DST actually changed (2a Sun. morning), did the patch show as a program that could be removed in Remove Programs? If so, did the patch work?
I discovered this morning that the MS patch had not taken, so I installed the HP one. It shows as a program in Remove Programs but I still had to change the time manually. My future appointments did change to the correct times then. I anticipate if you install the patch after 2a Sun. morning, then you will not be asked if you wish to adjust for DST. You would need move the clock 1 hr. ahead under Settings->Clock.

I have a PPC-6700 with the MS patch (it shows on the remove programs menu) and the clock did not adjust automatically.
It'd be nice if people post here their particular results in order to narrow down the issue.
Thanks!

I have an HP 4150 and I ran the MS patch last week. I also ran the MS patch for my computer. Everything is fine on both; all of my appointments are as they should be, and the time was automatically changed when I woke up this morning. BTW, the fix is showing in my removable programs list on my PPC.

Pocket PC installs are .cab files. You may need to update your PC's installer if you are having difficulty with the .msi file.

I don't know specifically which OS that version number corresponds to. It could be (theoretically) Windows Mobile 2003 or possibly Pocket PC 2002. If it's WM2003, try downloading the unsigned cab (the one for Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket PC's) from Microsoft (link below), copying them to your Axim, and then using the File Explorer on the Axim, tapping on them to apply them.

I don't know if this will work for PocketPC 2002 based devices.
Maybe someone familiar with the Axim X5 line (or someone who knows (what I'm guessing) which CE version is in WM2003 and which is in PPC2k2) can comment on what PocketPC version that number corresponds to.

All thanks to phpBB, of course. The workaround is to manually adjust your profile's timezone to one hour ahead, but unless you're aiming to make time critical posts (which you probably aren't), there's little point.

For those experiencing issues, you may want to try switching your timezone to another, soft-resetting, and then switching back to your usual setting. These steps usually aren't necessary, but they have worked in certain cases.

So am I safe in assuming that the 4.2.whatever is Windows Mobile 2003? I think those were the only two options for the X5 (although my "Dell days" didn't start until my current X51v, so I am by no means an expert).
