Last night and this morning by simply going to Freewareppc.com caused my McAffee antivirus to identify a temp. internet file as a trojan. It wasn't cleanable or fixable with McAffee, but by deleting temp files with IE Tools - Options the offender went away.

Is the site sending trojans or is McAffee hypersensitive?

Did you read what it found and look it up to see what it was?

Security software nowadays will look at stuff pretty aggressively. In my opinion, you should head the warnings given by your security software and at the very least, find out what has been perceived as a threat before dismissing it. Even if your security software appears to have stopped the threat, you can only be sure if you know what symptoms to look for.

Once you understand what threat was found, you can make up your own mind if your McAffee is hypersensitive.

It actually appeared to be a temporary internet -folder- with the alphabet soup name of about 7 random alphanumeric characters. Just revisited the site and it no longer occurs so maybe all is well now. It was in Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\6FSNQLGV (fake example) The antivirus program ID'd the '6FSNQLGV' folder as the trojan.
