i guess from a more basic users view it would be cool...but chances are if a user is already understanding wifi networks and managing content on a pc...its just a matter of getting a 3rd party tweak app like tweaks2k2 to enable network folders and then just start sharing content like any other network. this way, ALL content video/audio/text/pictures is available to the user. i just hope this player does ,more than just audio. plus there are web apps like orb that do similar things, but more. we will see. i'll give it a try.

Thanks for posting our announcement... just to be clear, LobsterTunes allows you to play music stored on your Home server both from within your LAN and beyond, via either a WiFi or 3G wireless connection.

We are trying to make this experience as simple as possible for all users, so we really do invite you to try it out and send us your impressions, via the form on our http://lobstertunes.com website.

Thanks
Iain - Electric Pocket

I've been trying out this app and getting great support from the guys who make it.
It's really a very cool app and I'm surprised more people aren't talking about it. Basically, if you have a 3G connection, you can effectively carry around your entire music library around with you, even if your phone only has a small amount of memory. Why? Because the app manages remote connection to your media server at home, and also does automatic cache management. So if you play the same tunes a lot, they can stay in your memory, and the tunes you only occasionally play, you can download (and cache) when the mood takes you.
Provided your 3G connection is decent (and yes, I know, that's a big if in most places) and you have a flat-rate data plan, the need to have a hard disk based media player pretty much goes away.
