I've been getting an error lately when attempting to sync. My Treo connects to my laptop ok but it won't sync. An error message pops up and tells me to consult activesync help.

The phone is connected. I can explore files, etc but I can't sync. After uninstalling everything several times and reinstalling the software it worked for a few days but is now not syncing again. Any suggestions?

This could be caused by an error in your notifications file. Try installing a utility like MemMaid (free demos available) and check for duplicate or corrupt notification entries.

Another thing that seems to help with some devices is making sure that your Inbox is NOT set to a POP3 account by default (even when it's not open). Try setting your Inbox to the Text Messages inbox, close Inbox, and then try re-synching.
