"mDigger Reader is the powerful little program for smart phones, Pocket PC’s, PDA’s, Tablet PC’s, etc., that lets users read, organize, share, save and update all news, information and pictures delivered to their mobile devices from the free Internet information service, mDigger. mDigger Reader provides users with a great channel browsing and mobile information sharing experience."

If you haven't heard of mDigger, think Avantgo with the ability to make your own channels. Ok, to do that does require a bit of programming skill but at least the potential is there. mDigger was launched as a beta service a few months back and like Avantgo, user registration is free. What really distinguishes this from Avantgo is that mDigger is a cross-platform service, and includes PDAs, smartphones (in the non-Microsoft sense), and PCs (all flavours of Win XP and Vista; Mac and Linux versions on the way). While I'm far more inclined towards using RSS myself, that may be my unlimited-flat-rate data connection talking :). A service such as this (or Avantgo) really makes sense when over-the-air sync isn't economical and you're wanting your news fix when out and about. My only complaint or rather criticism, is that the website comes across as impersonal and corporate oriented - I would've liked to have seen screenshots and some info on currently available channels right on the front page without having to register first. You're allowed to demo the service, but it'd be nice to know what exactly you're demoing. Screenshots and more details from the press release after the break.<!>

mDigger Reader provides users with a great channel browsing and mobile information sharing experience.
