I was wanting to know if anyone has come across some alarm sofware for WM5 that fits most of this criteria:
1) One hand operation (WHY does the default alarm have acres of blank space and a tiny time selector?)
2) Lightweight (don't want to know the time in China or 15 skinnable clocks - just an alarm). Plus the ability to have a direct shortcut to the alarms setting section!!
3) Ability to turn on the volume before the alarm goes off (alarms no good if I have my phone on silent) **important!!
So hard to find good alarm software for Windows Mobile :(
Cheers!
Hey Leyton,
Well, it's really difficult to find good alarm software for WM :( Consider the WAWA alarm clock software (http://novii.tv/pocketpc/wawa) . It meets your ctiteria and it has another great feature - it can turn on your home theater in case you need it to wake you up.
Ah! and if you are a noviiremote user - enjoy a great discount (i've just seen the announcement at novii.tv )

This (pTravelAlarm) is supposed to be good: http://www.burroak.on.ca/pta.html
Might want to try the new beta posted. WM5 fixes.
If I didn't already use Spb Time I might have bought it.

I use GSAlarmClock (http://page.freett.com/todamitsu/AlarmClockE.htm) and like it a lot. It's very small, very lightweight and simple, free, and the interface is great for my hand.

Thanks guys - will check out the suggestions tonight. It is difficult trawling through the many programs and installing/uninstalling ones that turn out to have showstopping flaws.
xdalaw - I tried spbtime too (luckily before I bought it) and although it is a pretty clock it lacks some substance when it comes to alarms :(

ptravelalarm has mp3 alarm support...but every app i try does not seem to go off (or atleast, not wake me up) every time. it may be just my ppc.
With WM5 MS has blessed us with the same alarm bug previous operating systems had. You might try AlarmToday at http://www.pocketmax.net/ and MemMaid at http://www.dinarsoft.com/memmaid/ which have overcome most of my missed alarms.
