Aside from the usual navigation keys, the GENE 100 only features a touch screen for input - there is no slide out keyboard or a numeric keypad. It is a small candybar style phone with quad-band GSM/GPRS (possibly EDGE), Bluetooth, 2 megapixel camera and full size SD slot. HTC has produced a number of similar devices, but they have only been offered by European and Asian carriers. It is likely the GENE will not be seen in American stores either."

The FCC has a great way of letting the cat out of the proverbial bag on devices in the making. However, since the GENE 100 (search link from Phonescoop) appears to be similar to other HTC Pocket PC Phone devices for the European and Asian markets, I'm not sure there's much to celebrate at this unveiling. Anyone see a hidden jewel here?
