Well this release makes my Vodafone import feel a lot better :D $450 cheaper and 2 months earlier ;)

Good to see it coming to the masses here though.

I feel even better than MitchellO because i actually won my Treo 750v from Europe, and because i am from Australia, they unlocked it for me. It sure beats paying $1200 for one, i would have bought one anyway (probably from ebay).

I'm going to a Telstra/Palm/Microsoft launch party Tuesday night in Sydney and am hoping to hear some news and maybe a ball park for the release date of Windows Mobile 6 pro on the Treo.

Oooh I would be quite interested in going to that. Where and when is it?

MicthellO - I have PMd you the info.

I hope that Palm finally manage to squeeze wifi into the Treo, at the moment i am torn between the HTC Excalibur and the Treo. One for the wifi and the other for Office Mobile and the touchscreen, plus i think Treo feels better to use.

The PM didn't come through. Looks like you misspelled my username.

I Attended the Treo launch in Sydney, Australia last night and it wasn’t anything too exciting, obviously it would have been more exciting if I hadn’t had my Treo 750 since November.

2 interesting things were said:

1) Palm is currently testing compatibility across the Treo range with Windows Mobile 6, but were not willing to release any prospective release dates or even official confirm that us Treo users will get an update.

2) No wifi in the palm. Palm have examined usage patterns of Treos and decided that people primarily use wifi in Airports (with difficult login pages etc) and at home and it was decided for this Treo that they wouldn’t put wifi in there as they wanted to make a reliable phone and at this stage the battery performance is lacking and therefore it would drain too much of the battery to have both the Cell radio and wifi radio on at once.

No, that wasnt me. But i did get to speak with the Palm guy for a little bit after the launch and he was confident that Palm could do it, but wasnt guarenteeing anything. But as i just looked on Cnet, i found this Article. http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/handhelds/ontheradar/0,39050970,61990465,00.htm
Palm Singapore has officially announced that they will be releasing Treos and Updates for Treos in the 2nd Half of 2007. Good news for all us Treo owners
