The demo units are running a beta version of WM6, price is pretty reasonable (if it's unlocked that is), and best of all it appears that our speculation over the memory configuration appears to be wrong - it looks very much like the G900 will have 128MB RAM and 128MB ROM :D. Let's hope that stays true in the production units. You can take a gander at the high-res pics that todoPocketPC.com have taken here.

Update:
Mea Culpa! Due to my ignorance and appalling bad taste  , I made a mistake in posting the photos from the todoPocketPC.com site in this post. Please use the link above to view the photos and my sincerest apologies to all concerned.

Can anyone confirm the cellular bands the G900 is going to work on?

So far we have had people "confirm" that it is triband GSM, single band 3G AND others have "confirmed" that it is quad band GSM, tri band 3G???

I guess what we need now is a screen shot showing which bands it will use, or an official spec sheet from Toshiba, confirming just one of the current confirmations. :)

Is this device likely to make it to the US market?

Looks like the now-familiar 64/128 we all know and hate. What are you seeing that I don't in the images?

Steve, photos 2,3, and 4 all show 112mb of RAM

I believe that the 64MB of memory mentioned on Toshiba's flyers refers to 64MB available Flash storage.

yep, the other 64mb of rom is taken up by the OS. So 128 ram and 128 rom.

Ah - when I saw 53/121 I immediately thought 64/128. Forgot about the OS. Silly me.

Guys, I'll have to apologise here - in my excitement I posted all the photos without asking for permission first, so they'll have to go. You can still view them through the todoPocketPC.com gallery (http://www.todopocketpc.com/galeriappc/gallery.asp?categoryid=237).

Seems like this device is stirring quiet a few people. Like a lot is riding on this, I hope Toshiba pulls it off, so I hope they get quad band and all those cellular things up to par.

It looks no 850 gsm or any us 3g

Toshiba Europe (http://www.toshiba-europe.com/mobile/Mobile2Live.aspx?WCI=PageNavigate&WCE=&WCU=%3bLANG%3d1%3bPID%3d173%3bPNT%3d0%3bSEC%3d8%3bTYP%3d12#)

That would be a complete deal breaker for me. It looks like my Tytn stays a little longer. :(

It also looks like no SDHC (note "up to 2GB mini SD slot")
And it also looks like Toshiba is still using the same POS BT stack they had on the e800BT and e830: no HID, no A2DP, no AVRCP profiles.

Sorry, but I won't be giving up the 12 GB of combined storage I currently have loaded in my e830 for 2 GB of miniSD (esp. since I would have to purchase said 2 GB miniSD card) just for the pleasure of downgrading from a 4" to a 3" screen (even if it is WVGA).

Also disappointed that the screen seems to be 65K color. iMate's Ultimate lineup will be sporting 262K color VGA screens (makes a big difference in the appearance of video and photos).

I can live with no SDHC and only 65K colors, and beeing in Europe lack of US frequences doesn't really bother me, but the above quote is something different.
If it's really only BT 1.2 and there is no HID, A2DP and AVRCP, why do they even bother with including BT at all?
It's really funny how every device has something lacking for no apparent rational reason.
I think that the only exception to that is Athena - this one doesn't really lacking anything, it even has too much in size and price...

If it's really only BT 1.2

I'd actually missed that, but you're right that's what the press release says.

There's no excuse not to have BT 2.0 with EDR on your top-of-the-line model in 2007. Many devices announced for this year have it. And BT 1.2 is exactly what they had in 2004's e830 (if you could really call such a useless implementation BT).

having BT tech of 04s sucks , what sucks more is , to have a screen ideal for watching movies and havee 65k , also , if you are so thoughtful to give the device 128 RAM , why not include at least 256 ROM ? even 1gb?

as others said , the ultimate series really have the edge in very many aspects.

the only advantage here , is the ability to control USB dongles with this device , while it can be leveled out by the TV out of imate series.

next big disappointment i guess
