I've got an HP iPAQ 1940. I believe it's running Windows Mobile 2003 (the system lists the OS as CE 4.20).

I'm quite confused about this whole DST 2007 thing. I downloaded updates for XP and Outlook, no problem. But the PPC is confusing me.

First, I tried downloading an update from Microsoft's site here (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/daylightsaving/default.mspx). I followed the instructions under "For Windows Mobile users who connect to a PC". That didn't seem to do anything other than install some files on my local machine. I couldn't tell that anything was done to my PPC (I had it hooked up when I ran this installation file".

Next I tried following the directions on MS's site labeled "For Windows Mobile users who do not connect to their PC." This time, the CAB file just gave me an error message that my device wasn't the appropriate type (or something along those lines).

I searched the forums here and found this (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=52452&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=daylight+savings&start=0), which has a link to someone else (http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/samsung-i730-i830-i830w/81246-2007-time-zone-update-information-wm-devices.html) that created a .cab file of their own. It installed, but actually looked like it set my time incorrectly. I had to uninstall it and manually reset the time on my device.

Can anyone give me a clear answer about what I need to do so that my device won't hiccup as it passes through this new Daylight Savings Time rules for 2007?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Sorry, I can't help because I have the same problem (iPAQ 4700 WM2003SE). I think my PC and Outlook updated correctly, but the iPAQ doesn't seem to recognize the change. Any new appointment I create in the affected period synchs an hour off.

Try this (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=215348&prodSeriesId=3298419&swItem=ip-47251-1&prodNameId=3298421&swEnvOID=2067&swLang=8&taskId=135&mode=4&idx=0). Run it on your PC and ensure your Pocket PC is connected.

That's much better.

Thank you very much. :D

Yes, that certainly seemed to install nicely. I guess we'll know pretty soon if it works.

Thanks.

You should be able to tell. Just create an appointment during the extra weeks on either the pc or ppc and then synch. It should show the same time on both.
