I set the PPC's clock to 11:55 PM and just watched until it was about 12:05 AM and the PPC never powered on. Does WM5 normally power-on the screen when it does it's midnight sorting?

Not necessarily. Your PPC can even send an SMS with Screen turned off!

Mine can't, but that would be an interesting trick for those so equipped.

I remember the "ghost in the device" posts when the first pocket pcs appeared. :)
