Hi,

Was wondering if increasing the standard 64MB ROM in the Exec is possible at all? And if it's as easy as adding/changing laptop/desktop PC memory chips. Hope you guys can point me in the right direction.

Usually, no. Upgrading RAM chips is common, but ROM chips are less frequently done because there's that added task of imaging. You can contact Pocket PC Techs (http://www.pocketpctechs.com/) to see if they'll perform a special ROM upgrade service for the Exec, but I wouldn't bet on it.

If you require extra storage, it's best to purchase a memory card.

Thanks Darius. Actually, I already have a 2GB Sandisk Ultra II SD card in the Exec, but some programs just literally are begging to be in ROM, as it slows down my system, sometimes even stopping it and i have to do a soft reset and take out the SD card so the SDaemon driver conflicts with the loading programs.

I'll email PPC Tech and see what they can do, if not I'll probably just wait till the Xda Flame is released here, hoepfully packed with that 2GB ROM that I read about!
