sync with work and home, don't want to mix information

Is it possible to sync with my home PC and my work PC, but only have thing that are categorized "personal" on my home PC and only those categorized as "business" on my work PC, but all of it on my PDA? If I tell my home PC to only sync "personal", it will only upload items from the PC that are personal, but it will download anything. Same applies if I tell my work PC to only sync "business" items. After three syncs I end up with all data on both PCs. I hope this makes sense and there is a solution.

Using category-specific synching is the only way I know of to keep the data separate. However, the fact that it's not working correctly for you makes me wonder if somehow the categories got reset or deleted on your device.

When you look items up on your PC and device, are the categories still correct?
