I've made an mp3 that I'd like to use as the sms notification sound, but I don't even know where to begin. Will WM5 recognize mp3 files, and to which directory should they be copied to? \windows\rings or what?

Some devices can recognize MP3s as ringtones, and they go in the \Windows\Rings directory. System notification sounds (e.g., SMS) are a little different. They usually go in \Windows and recommended formats are WMA or WAV.
