Anyone else here install Internet Explorer 7 and find that ActiveSync will no longer launch?

I was prompted by Windows Update to install Internet Explorer 7 about an hour ago and shortly thereafter, I tried to sync my Loox n560 (I actually tried my T-Mobile SDA just before that) and ActiveSync will not start up.

It does not appear in the system tray and if I try to start it up through the programs menu, nothing happens.

I had a feeling that IE7 would cause me some headaches :frusty:

I've updated three computers with Internet Explorer 7 and have not come across this issue.

Have you tried (a) rebooting your system, and (b) uninstalling and reinstalling ActiveSync? It's likely that one of ActiveSync's critical components was nuked during the IE update, so reinstalling ActiveSync may help.

Thanks Darius,

Looking at it today, I have found that the ActiveSync issue is only a symptom of a bigger problem.

Many, if not all, the computers on my network are having issues with certain programs and most glaringly, the Windows Installer is inaccessible.

At the end of last week, I took down our last NT4.0 Domain Controller and there have been small problems popping up on the network ever since. I am wondering if this is just another one.
