How to load contacts to Motorola Q Smartphone

Ok - I am sure this is so easy - but I have been trying to figure out how to download my new phone. I can get it to sync but nothing comes up in the contacts folder. Do I have to point to Outlook contacts or Palm contacts or is it something else.

The Q is a Smartphone so it may behoove you to post this over at the Sister site Smartphone Thoughts (http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/).

ActiveSync will synchronize the default Contacts folder for the default Outlook Profile. If you are using multiple Outlook Profiles, I think there is a setting in ActiveSync to choose a specific profile.

ActiveSync will not sync with any other desktop PIM without the addition of third party software.

Are other items syncing with your Q (Calendar and/or tasks)?

Have you checked the box for synchronizing Contacts in ActiveSync?

Unfortunately I am not at my Windows PC over the weekend so I wont be able to double check my ActiveSync settings to give you specific help, but I am sure that others in this community will be more than willing to chime in and offer any assistance they can.

Also, make sure that if you've assigned categories to your contacts that you're not accidentally filtering them from synching.
