Pocket Mechanic Professional v2.21 is now available on our server (http://www.antontomov.com). The new version is a major new update, including more than 50 minor bug fixes, many enhancements, a new module, more file system cleanup rules and a better relocate module!
The new module in v2.21 is called “Storage cache” and allows fine tweaking of the amount of cache the operating system uses for caching file operations. Increasing the cache size to 1-2MB of RAM will dramatically improve storage card file system performance at the expense of less available RAM to the applications.
The “Relocate” module has been significantly improved and v2.21 can now relocate virtually any application or folder. Improvements include better registry updates, better shortcut file relocation, fixes in the file relocation step as well as a new step called “Finalize” that finalizes the relocation depending on the mode the module runs in. The “Relocate” module also features a new relocation mode called “Data”. This mode can be used to safely move Outlook messages and attachments, Internet Explorer cache, NetFront/AvantGo cache etc.
Other improvements include faster dialog loadings, fixes in the file enumeration macro module, fixes for “disappearing” dialogs due to background threads taking priority over the main application, a new file system rule to cleanup Resco Recycle Bin folders etc.
We plan to release another update this week featuring rich command line options and allowing integration with our new product – Virtual Explorer. Stay tuned!
