I didn't see this on the front page, but apparently NTP (the fine folks who brought you the RIM patent lawsuit) has now sued Palm for the same patent infringements.

It doesn't specify which OS is at the heart of the dispute (and I'm sure NTP doesn't care). But doesn't any of the Palm stuff (PalmOS or WM5 based) just use the underlying structure that Microsoft's Exchange ActiveSync provides? So why not sue Microsoft (other than NTP doesn't have the multi-billion dollar cash reserves to do such a silly thing right now)? Has Microsoft already "purchased" rights to use the disputed patents? Why is that not covered in the Palm devices?
