Hey guys,

One thing I've been finding really frustrating of late is the really poor file management system that exists on Windows Mobile 5. In short, it's **** and powerless and not user friendly.

The main thing that's been frustrating me is if I have a mixed CD of songs, neither WMP or the file manager will let me play the CD as it is for the following reasons (I think):

In media player it will sort by "Album name" or "artist name" but if it's a mix of both, then it doesn't come up as one or the other.

In file manager it only lets you play one track at a time.

Any ideas on how I can get it so that if I have a folder of songs I want to play I can just click on the folder and play the whole thing rather than have to go in every song to play it??

I don't mind paying for programs if that's what is required, but I just want a better file management system that is good for playing multiple different MP3s.

Cheers
Grace

I don't think WMP has "Album Artist" support, which is what you may be looking for. In general, WMP10 is not a very good media player, especially its library management. You can try ordering the filenames of the tracks, but you may find better luck by using a different player, like Pocket Player (http://www.conduits.com/products/player/).

Good luck.

Actually, WMP10 does have Album Artist support, but it's not very well implemented and not worth the time configuring. Pocket Player is a far better solution. There's a small price to pay, but it's worth it.

I can only agree with them. Pocket Play'a is da bomb dawg.

I just keep all my "lone" songs in "My Music", and then each complete album gets its own sub-folder from there. I've done it that way since day 1 with Pocket Player, so I'm not sure how it behaves in other situations. You CAN build a playlist with only the d-pad and softkeys. No stylus required. That is probably my favorite part.

Pocket Player is 20 Dollars, but there is a 30 day, unrestricted trial. Go get it. Now.
