I was under the impression that infrared is redundant when ppc phne has bluetooth till recently. I found that my Eten M600+ which does not have infrared port was difficult to beam my contacts to another using my bluetooth. This is because I had my bluetooth headset paired already. It did not allow me to pair with new ppc without disengaging with my headset.
Thats when I felt that infrared is not redundant but a necessity.
Is this just my experience alone or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks

IrDa doesn't seem necessary any longer except for remote control applications. Poor BT implementations shouldn't be considered a vote for IrDa. My 6700 can't even do that! :(

You mean we can have multiple bluetooth profiles active simultaneously?
What do we need to tweak to achieve that?
Thank you

Thank youCheck your BT version 1.1 was incapable of multiple connections but 1.2 and above are capable.

Pairing isn't necessary if all you're doing is beaming stuff over.

Agreed. IrDA shouldn't be left out from any PPC PE device. For one, it's the only way of using it as a modem from a lot of client, which will be even more the case with AKU3 (no BT DUN profile any more).
