I'm Back!!

Well, after some time off with my Zaurus and then my SP5, I've just gone an ordered another Pocket PC.

I just can't type another email on the phone keypad, and sometimes I just have to be able to edit an Office document.

So I've ordered an HP6940, even though I wasn't convinced that Windows Mobile was really the way to go. Hopefully the PPC will be here by the middle of next week. In the meantime, I need to try and dust off all my PPC software. Everything I have was for older versions, so some upgrading is going to be in order. I have no idea where my reg code for Textmaker is.

I was really pleased to find a device with all the features I want and NO camera. Since I spend a lot of time working at defence contractors, my SmartPhone spent a lot of time in the car.

I'm looking forward to getting back into the PPC world.

Thanks Jason. I've really not been too far away. I've always read the PPCT forum even though I haven't posted much.

I'm really pleased that there are now converged devices that look as though they will work for me. I'm one of those that believe the old stand-alone PDA is now history - indeed my C860 Zaurus was probably as good as it was likely to get. The most annoying thing with the converged world is how much control the carriers have.

As far as software goes, I think I'm going to start again, rather than just use the apps from before. I'm sure I'll go with PI, but I will give Agenda Fusion a try first. For data input, I probably won't need Caligrapher because of the new keyboard but I'll still try the latest version. On my Zaurus, I used an Outliner program called StageOne. This was really useful, I'll have to see if there is something like it on the PPC.

So here we go again for more fun :lol:
