Hi everyone,

Having switched back to Windows Mobile a few weeks back, I've spent the time since on playing with the possibilities of a modern device (shouldn't have - eats up time and costs money - but hey, it's fun). One thing I tried with my XDA trion (HTC Hermes) was mobile blogging. Since I have a blogger account, I wanted to use pocketblogger (http://www.pocketblogger.net).

First of all, I found out, that pocketblogger obviously doesn't work through the network connection set up by ActiveSync. (Can anybody tell me why? I'm terribly curious, you know...) All I got was the error message "WebException". Fine. Not.

When I logged into my home wireless lan, I did not get this particular error - but an interesing new one: "Assembly der Ressource konnte nicht gefunden werden". Since pocketblogger doesn't have German localization, I assumed (correctly, I suppose) that this error message was courtesy of my (localized) .NET 2.0 compact framework and found out that it translates into "Could not find resource assembly".

Some research turned up, that this error has been plagueing pocketblogger users before, when some web service wasn't running correctly on the pb-provider's web host. (http://www.pocketblogger.net/2005/04/could-not-find-resource-assembly-error.html Sorry for the long url...)

However, I had done something stupid before: I 've switched from blogger to blogger-in-beta (simply cannot resist AJAX-UIs).

Now here finally comes the question: is the error message due to a problem with some pocketblogger.net web service or is it my own fault because I couldn't resist the beta-bug and pocketblogger cannot talk to the beta?

Please, fellow PPC-users, enlighten me!
