imate kjam cannot find the dhcp server

hello folks, i have a problem that many on line have, with the imate kjam the wifi does not immediately detect the accesspoint as a laptop or handheld device does, i installed hitchhiker program that manages wifi connections and while watching it try to connect to my home accesspoint it continually says associating and then renew ip, and then failed, at the bottom of the screen on the kjam it says locating the dhcp server which it obviously never finds, can any one shed some light on why it is not locating this dhcp server and how i can correct it? thanks soo much:)

Typically, your AP/router acts as the DHCP server, so I guess the first step is to check whether DHCP is enabled at your AP.
