Top entries show off NS Basic's Abilities!
NS BASIC Corporation is pleased to announce the results of our 7th Programming Contest. As expected, we received some cool entries which take advantage of the new capabilities of devices and NS Basic. In the past contests we have seen great improvement of entries in quality, performance and sophistication: we were not disappointed this time. The winners were very good, but some of the other entries are also worth a good look at.
The winners are:
NS Basic/CE
RMR Accounts, by RMSoft. A complete personal accounting package which includes integrated bank accounts, expenses, investments and more. This version, released in September 2006, is the first from the company to bring together all of its features in a single integrated program. This package is now the equal of many desktop personal accounting packages. It's very comprehensive and works well. With 38 code modules, over 1000 objects and more than 40,000 lines of code, it shows how NS Basic/CE can handle large projects.

NS Basic/CE allows developers who have used tools like Visual Basic and eMbedded Visual Basic to rapidly develop applications for Windows CE devices. NS Basic is a complete, powerful development environment. NS Basic includes features such as databases, serial and IR communications, signature capture, bar code reading, wireless communications and more.
NS Basic/Desktop
IPasMobile by J. Mitterhauser GmbH. This app is used to acquire data for production control and optimization, and is ideal for use on UMPC and Tablet PC devices on the factory floor. It has a nearly identical version for Windows Mobile and Windows CE devices, written using NS Basic/CE. The software (including earlier versions) is in use in over 1200 companies worldwide. Currently in German; an English version is coming soon. This has been a successful product for some time in the Windows CE space. Moving to to NS Basic/Desktop allows it to run much faster on the more powerful Windows desktop devices. The program is well thought through and highly specialized for its purpose. Mitterhauser wins a Samsung Q1 Ultra Mobile PC, donated by Microsoft.

NS Basic/Desktop is an easy to use, full featured development tool for Windows XP and Windows 2000. With its small footprint and short learning curve, it's a great tool for many programming projects.
NS Basic/Palm
Kerfuffle by Alan Simpson. A dictionary quiz game. Guess the meanings of obscure words against the clock. "I have been programming in NS Basic for 2 months and this game is my first NS Basic Program for the Palm," said Alan. The judges loved playing this game - finally, their love of useless words has become a valuable skill. Clean, intuitive, well designed. More exciting visual and audio effects could make this a first class game. Good luck with it as a commercial app!
