On my Cingular 8125, I am using the Notes program to record meeting notes. When I got into Notes, press the record button and set it down on the table for the meeting, it will only record for 299.8 seconds (5 minutes). I have turned off the power consumption feature so that the unit does not shut off, but it still will only record for 5 minutes and then it stops.

Is there a way to change this? The meetings usually last 30 minutes or more and I want to be able to record the whole thing.

Thanks!

Sounds like a storage capacity issue. Try NoteM (http://www.freewareppc.com/multimedia/notem.shtml). It's free and allows you to set the format and bitrate that it records in, and thus the space consumed. You'll be able to fit your 30 minute recording easily.

Second Darius' recommendation: NoteM is great.

I also recommend this article (http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/menneisyys/112005SoundRecorderApps.asp) on all sound recording-related questions.

Okay - I have tried to download NoteM. Darius - the link you gave me takes me to the freewareppc.com web site, but when I go to the link notem.1.21.zip, it gives a "page not found".

Then I read Menneisyys' article and went to the link he provides to NoteM (pdagold.com). I am able to download the zip file, but none of the .cab files will load. Nor will any of the .exe files run.

Help - what am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

The only execute file you should run is the Setup.exe, and only on the desktop, with your PDA synced with your PC. Setup.exe is the desktop installer, and you'll need that to install the app. If you still have problems with that, PM me and I'll email you the PPC cab version.

Okay - I got it to work. Thanks for your help.

It also does exactly what I wanted it to as well!

Absolutely, check your memory first, but that software seems pretty darn good.
