Well I've been looking for a long time and I deceided to try out an all in one device with a data plan. I choose the Cingular 8125. My contract was up and I got it through Cingular so it is locked to them.

My question is, when I get it, what should I do to get it running well?

I assume a firmware update, and any software I use regularly but I'm talking more about settings or anything I might not know about going from a stand alone PPC.

You might want to consider getting a utility that monitors your data usage, especially if you don't have a lot of experience using your provider's data services. That way, you won't get any unpleasant surprises when your phone bill arrives. SPB Software has a GPRS monitor, and there are others available through software stores like MobiHand and Handango.

Cingular's data plans are unlimited.

Unfortunately, not all of the data plans are unlimited. Hopefully this one was. :?

Ah, true. I keep forgetting that they have limited plans, because it seems so pointless to use one of those when you can get unlimited data.

I did get the unlimited data plan. I figured a limited plan was pointless.
