It’s here! Palm has the specifications of the new Palm Treo 750v (Vodafone release) posted on to their Euro site. The Palm Treo 750v has Windows Mobile 5.2 as its operating system, run by a 300MHz Samsung Processor and has 128 mb memory. It is quad band (850/900/1800/1900 and also support UMTS Bands 850/1900/2100. They have also apparently removed the antenna and now boasts and internal one. Again, as with the Palm Treo 700w, you get 240x240 screen size.

If anyone here can report on this new Treo or a recent new one as I have never owned a Treo and may be intrested in buying one of these news ones that was just released. I want to know if the reception and call quality are good or poor on this device. With the Imates or other similiar devices, call quality and reception seem to be poor wether it is on a new device or an older device and it takes for ever to find or get reception on those devices. Once they lose reception and need to find reception again it seems to take them an extra long time in doing so when compared to a regular phone. It also seems that the phone speaker seems to be poor on many of those devices. I have an Imate Pda II and for GPRS it is o.k. but for calls it is really poor and I get many dropped calls. I also can not hear the other party well. The signal reception is also usually quite poor. Any inputs from others here would be nice. I am in the market for a new device with 3G and since I travel and they do not have Blackberries here in Taiwan the Blackberry is out of the question for me. The have the Blackberries in Hong-Kong but only with a local contract and I would be payiny International roaming charges to use in Taiwan which would not make it worth it for me as I prefer to swap SIM cards when I travel to other countries in Asia or Europe..

I bought one on eBay, tried InfoGation Odyssey Mobile GPS navigation, it works great. Is any other software worth to give it a free trial?

Received my spanking new Cingular 750 a few days ago and this phone absolutely rocks. The form factor, in my opinion, is simply the best. I was using a 700W on Verizon's network for almost a year and switched over to to Cingular for their superior coverage in my area (upstate NY). I test drove an HTC TyTn initially, and that is also an awesome device, but the Palm ease of use and one-hand-ability is unbeaten. I guess once a Treo user/fan always a Treo user/fan.

Must have apps that work on the 240 X 240;
HanDbase
eWallet
ListPro
AgendaOne
Memaid

A few of my favorite mindless games are:
My Little Tank
SkyForce (240 X 240 version)

I gave up my 700w for the Cingular 750 and I haven't looked back. It is really an awsome device. I was having battery issues initially but once I applied the hack to stop my phone from trying to get my AOL mail every minute things have been wonderful. My battery last much longer than the 700w battery did which is surprising considering the battery is much smaller and the 750's processor is much faster. Getting through the day is no longer a worry. I love the text messaging feature that makes texting more like IMing. I like the way Text Messaging has been separated from E-mail. Also, the new "goto" button in Messaging is nice which allows you to change folders without having to touch the screen i.e. going from "inbox" to "outbox". You no longer have to turn Bluetooth on or off by touching the icon because the menu button on the Today screen now has a "wireless manager" option. I am not in a 3G area and Verizon has the EVDO here but the internet browsing seems just as fast or faster with Cingular. I still have my 700w and when tested side by side the 750 always beats the 700w to a web page. This phone is closer to perfect than any I have had. I have had the HP2215, HP6315, Samsung I730, Treo 700w and now the Treo 750. The most amazing thing of all is my phone has not locked up yet and I have had it for over a week now. No kidding, I have not had to reset the device yet. The increased memory in this phone has solved that problem. My 700w almost always locked up when I tried to do to much at a time. I can't get the 750 to lock up no matter how many programs I am running. The only thing I can find to say negative about the 750 is I wish I could turn up the volume during a call just a notch or two and wifi would be a nice feature too although I would probably rarely use it. I can hear just fine most of the time but if you are in a noisy environment it is difficult to hear. My 700w is plenty loud so I am not sure why they messed with that. I am hoping there will be a fix. The smaller size of this device and the rubberized texture feels so nice in my hand. I have a Vaja Case for my 700w but will definately not need one for this phone. I am not too worried about dropping it because it just feels so much more secure. I am protecting my screen though with the best screen protector available in my opinion. The JAVO Screen 2.0 Ultra Clear. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine! Thanks for letting me share my opinion on this phone.
