<i>"I have the honor to review the iGo My Way Navigation Software 2006 All Region Beta version after publishing the TomTom Navigation 5 review couple weeks ago. The package arrived from GPS &amp; More Ltd. in about a week. I have extensively used one in-car navigation system for 4 years, an older version of iGuidance on the second generation IPAQ for 2 years, and lately the TomTom Navigation 5 software on T-mobile MDA. This would be an interesting comparison, especially with the TomTom Navigation 5 software, since the other two are considered older generation hardware and software."</i><br /><br />If you're considering GPS navigational software options, then take a look at <a href="http://www.theunwired.net/?itemid=3294">The::Unwired's review</a> of the iGo My Way Navigation solution. You'll see some contrasts and comparisons with the TomTom Navigation 5 software that the reviewer currently uses. <br /><br />But wait... there's more! TomTom has just released version 6 of their GPS navigational software with a host of new features which you can learn more about <a href="http://www.tomtom.com/news/category.php?ID=4&NID=287&Language=4">here</a>. Now, if you're itching for more information, we also have a Babelfish translation of a just-released Dutch review <a href="http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/trurl_pagecontent?lp=nl_en&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.pocketinfo.nl%2Fartikel%2F6401">here</a> for all to enjoy. Check it out!

Is the TomTom navigator 6 or any other 'new release' software easily available in Australia yet?

And if so - where can it be purchased?

Navigator isn't available in Australia, and I have no idea why. I should ask them.

I have TomTom Navigator 5, and it's difficult to tell how this is different, or what it is -- new version? Regionally-specific version? Is there an upgrade path?

The big problem with GPS mapping software is lack of information on maps coverage. Not only iGo, also Tom Tom, Destinator does that. All info they provide is for example "maps cover 20% of a given country" or "2000 cities are covered at the street level". I consider such info dishonest.
Only Handmap provides exact information that new buyer expects, but they offer really cheap soultion, software has poor user interface and maps are not of good quality.
