Hi all,

Trying to connect my hp 4155 to my WAP at home using WEP. I have entered the ssid and the key on the handheld and it says my access point is available, but I don't see any way to tell it to connect. I tried connecting to an open hotspot at work and it went right in. What am I missing?

Thanks.

John.

Hmmm. Even if you were working through a proxy that wasn't set up correctly, I don't think it'd say "available." I'm a little rusty on which application or screen the "available" message is given on that device, but is it on a field you can tap-and-hold? If so, does the option to "connect" appear?

You might want to try a third-party WiFi utility, like HitchHiker. It may give you more information about what's afoot.

I got HitchHiker and got it connected, but only after I set my access point to broadcast my ssid. I had it turned off for security reasons, but I can use wpa now, so it won't matter.

Thanks for the help.

John.
