Just one little rider - the only version that's available for the next week or so is American English; International English and other languages are yet to appear: Pocket Informant is currently available only in American English . Our other Localized language versions are coming within the next two weeks as we polish up the localizations. Please check back at the end of the first week of September for localizations here.

Bought the upgrade package just now (about 50% off). I'll see if I have time to test it out later, but I really like the fact that they've added support for PhatPad in the Notes View.

Support for PhatPad (& PhatNotes) was present in the prior version as well. However, only PhatNotes (& not PhatPad) notes can be viewed in PI 2007 preview window (same as before).

Does anyone have any info about the mentioned FC Planner for Outlook 4.0? I've only seen it mentioned in reference to PI and FC doesn't have any info on their site about it. I'm trying to find out when it will be released as I am very interested about PI's new sync capabilities with it.

According to a post over in the PI forums, v.4 is set for release sometime Sep./Oct. of this year.

I can't get Phatnotes light to install, the option is there but nothing happens.
Apart from that, PI is wonderful.

Interesting experience!

The advertizement says this is PI 2007, when you go to their website it calls it 2007 Rev. 1; but when you go to download and install, it is called PI 2005 Rev. 1 build 677 until it begins to install and there it calls it PI 2005 Rev. 3???!

So what do I have? After I installed the product I paid for from Handango, it calls it Rev. 5 Build 568, so therefore Handango sent me the wrong thing, it's what I already have. What is with handango? Their website says they ahve the new version?!

So I go to Web IS, and download their version, and load it, and it is the correct one. So now I hope it accepts the registration code I paid for over at handango!

PI 2007 Rev. 1 is build 677.

Not sure what's going on at Handango... Hope your reg code works!....

What's the recommended upgrade process - uninstall the old version first, or install this version over top?

I'm not sure what the recommended way is, but when I installed builds of it it just installed over my prior version and I never had a problem.

Same thing happened to me. I purchased PI 2007 at handango and when I downloaded it was PI 2005. I then went to Webis site and put in my handango email address and was able to download PI 2007 for free.

Maybe people should buy direct from the WebIS store, and then Handango don't get the 40% commission either.

I updated today - nice program!

The updated feature list said that this version has Exchange GAL integration, but I haven't been able to figure out how to initiate a lookup from PI. Any thoughts?

Well, I decided to pay for the upgrade at Handango but they did not give me the corect file. So I resintalled it from a file directly from Web Is instead. There's is the correct version of course and works just fine.

The version from Handango was the older one, at least at the time I tried it. My code Handango gave me does work on the new version so I am good to go! :)

Being a completely new revision, I'd say an uninstall/reinstall process is recommended, but based on past experience, a direct install-over-the-top works just as well.

Handango is never great at updating files on time. Their site may list the correct version, but there is occasionally a half-day delay with the file. Sigh. :|

I tried installing overtop, but the handy-dandy window that the desktop installer pops up states that the old version is uninstalled in the process, so there you go. ;)

Once in the past I instaled the trial version of this program, but after a short time ended up uninstalling and staying with the default Pocket Outlook. For some reason, it just felt too complex to me and I found myself longing for the simplicty I had using the default apps. Has anyone else had an experience like this?? Am I missing something?? Would it be worth taking another look at now?

Thanks!

That's only on WM5, with its broken installer routine. ;) WM2003 devices can still "install-on-top". My experience with past PIs is that install-on-top always worked.

Ahh! That explains the thoroughly horrible experience I have with installing apps on my WM5 device. When ever I try to uninstall an app - say prior to installing an update - or just removing it, it NEVER works smoothly. Most often it tells me " Could not completely uninstall - do you want to removethis app from the list. Yes/No" (or words to that effect). I then have to trawl through the PPC removing the files manually!
What an absolute bag of :bad-words:

There is an official patch for it, but it's up to OEMs to implement it if they want to and when they want to. The lack of a uniform update procedure is an annoyance at times. :(

fwiw, I find that performing a soft-reset directly before I attempt to uninstall an application generally does the trick. That was posted here before, but I think that it's something that should be mentioned from time to time, at least until all manufacturers/carriers implement the patch that Darius mentioned.

I have version 2005. Could somebody that have upgraded from this version till us the real advantage of it and not a copy of the list we can find on the site of Webis.

50% for an upgrade, I think this is not really attractive and could encourage people to find other solution. It's like you lease the software, and pay twice the firsf year.

To put things in perspective, 2005 still works. Sure - with the release of 2007, there are plenty of new features, but you aren't being forced to upgrade, nor are you being forced to look for alternatives. So I'm not sure the lease argument really holds here.

Oki I agree, far from a lease, because I am always happy to use it. More than that I just encouraged my brother in law yesterday to buy it.

But 50% is too much for me (not really the price, but the principle), I will stay with 2005. I think this value is discouraging people. How much of the customers have upgraded ? In addition, often we can find promotion for softwares with a rebates of 50%, so no real differences between an old customer and a new one.

But the saler decide.and I am sure he knows what he does. This is just a point of view of one of his customers.
