Greetings,

I have an IPAQ 2790 that I am trying to link via Bluethooth to my Motorola MPx220 cellphone.
After to have made my cellphone "bluetooth dicoverable", my IPAQ is linking to it and forms a partnership without any problem.
When I am trying to access Internet and launch the connection between the two devices, my cellphone cannot be initiated by the IPAQ and refuses to dial any number.
Could someone comment and help ?
Regards,
Mark

First thing to check is if your Moto actually has the Dial-up Networking profile. If it doesn't then what you are attempting to do is not possible.

After partnership were you able to have your PPC discover Dial Up networking as a service?
Did you provide your PPC with the settings to access the carrier's service?
Have you enabled a data plan from your carrier that will allow you to use the cellular data network?

Sorry but you loose me...
Before the partnership, On my PPC I went to settings:Connections and added in the option "general" a name for the settings, then in the option "modem" a name for the connection. In "select a modem" I chose "Bluetooth Dialup modem" than clicked "Next!", entered then the area code and my ISP phone number, clicked "next" and added my user name, password and ISP domain...
In the "Advanced" option, I was confronted to the block "Extra dial string modem commands" that I let blank as well as "Port settings" and so on...
What else am I supposed to do to have my cellphone reacting to my PPC command?

Sorry if I do not reply to your actual question but I am indeed a real neophite...
Many thanks for the help.

The partnership has to come first.

Apart from that, you've got the general direction right, except you must have a dataplan with your cellphone carrier to access the internet this way. You CANNOT dial into an ISP using a cellphone.

You CANNOT dial into an ISP using a cellphone. Nope, not true... CSD dialup calls can be made. Very slow data transmission.

Do they still do that? I thought most carriers would have dropped the idea by now.
