I need help!

First, I just found this site about a week ago or so. Everyone here has been really helpful. I thank you.

Today, I purchased a 1gig micro sandisk for my wife's cell phone. I followed the intructions that came with her phone to the letter. I turned off the phone, inserted the memory, powered up the phone and formatted the disk. The problem is that there is no available memory on the disked now. We haven't put anything on it!!!! It's brand new. Have I messed up? Please help if you can. Thanks everyone.

Ok, all may not be lost. First obtain a desktop/laptop card reader. Format using that and then insert into phone. That'll probably cure it.
If not, contact Sandisk for RMA procedures.

Of 10 Sandisk products, 3 have failed on me, 1 gave me serious issues initially but once I had them replaced (the 3), all of them have worked solidly for years... Not bad products but there can be problems...
