A freind of mine recently bought a 3800 series iPAQ. They're backlight doesn't come on at times. I was wondering if anyone had ever experienced this problem and if so is there a way to correct it. Thank You Ricky

this was a known issue caused by the FL inverter.

Just to expand on Leonard's answer: this is a hardware problem that would need some form of repair. :( Leonard's company may be able to help you, although it'd be an out-of-warranty repair.

if the screen comes on extremely dim try pressing & holding the power button down for about 5 seconds when the machine is on this turn the backlight off and on
