WM2003 and not refurbished?

My iPAQ 4150 has died and I need a replacement. I prefer to stay with WM2003 as a lot of my software is not WM5.0 compatiable.

I've been looking at the Hx4700, the hx2795 and the hx2495 (all of my accersories are for iPAQs). I do NOT want a refurbished unit. I have looked on Pricegrabber and other sites without success.

Can anyone lead me to a place to get one of these units which is still WM2003 and not refurbished?

Try using Froogle. It still has some listings for 2003 iPaqs, but you're going to pay through the nostrils. Also, you don't want the hx2795 or 2495, those are both WM5-native units and never came in a WM2003SE version.

What programs do you need that aren't WM5 compatible? I've found that most non-updated software still works perfectly on WM5.

I know Flexwallet & Listpro have a WM 5.0 compatible version, but it would be additional $$.

Maybe I just need to bite the bullet and migrate to WM 5.0...Thoughts and suggestions welcome.

I feel your concern. I held on to my iPAQ h5555 until this July. I bought the hx4700 because it has a 4-inch VGA screen was WM2003SE (love that screen rotation), a magnesium case and an 1800mAh battery. I also did not want to upgrade because of the same fear of incompatability and general forum dissatifaction of HP's WM5 implimentation. Then about a week ago HP released a ROM upgrade addressing the issues plaguing the 4700. I then upgraded to WM5 and am very happy so farnot that i wasn't before just more so now. All my standard software works without issue even games that don't get updated at all.

My point is if you want an iPAQ w/WM2003SE go with the 4700 it's great. Don't be afraid to upgrade to WM5 if software is your only concern as most if not all will work on it. Now I keep the h5555 in the draw just in case.
