<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pmtorrone/206959855/">http://www.flickr.com/photos/pmtorrone/206959855/</a><br /><br />pt has been looking for some big buttons for his Wizard to make WMP10 a bit easier to use. The only button on the default skin you can really use effectively without a stylus is the play/pause button. Not so with this skin!<br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/hansberry/2006/20060805-ilikebigbuttons.jpg" /><br /><br />The direct link for the <a href="http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=19625">skin itself is here</a> (available for just $1.99).<br /><br /><b>Edit:</b> Download link updated.

I can't find the link for the download - I went to the additional link you posted - which has the instructions - but I don't see anything to download.

Oh, I'm sorry. Sigh... I didn't know. I personally have on interest in the skin (rarely use WMP10 on my device preferring the Creative Zen Micro) but thought others would be interested in it. Well, that is what hotmail email addresses are for, throw-away forum registration.

This is actually the Tweak skin created by one of our readers (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=43592), djpandora. It's available at PocketGear (http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=19625) for $1.99. I'm not sure if its availability on the HTC Wizard Web site has been authorised by djpandora, so if you instead prefer to support him directly and say thanks for his hard work, I think it's worth spending the couple of dollars for.

Pretty cool...I have not yet put it on mine, but I would love to find one like this that will fit the Universal when running in true VGA mode.

How much of the $1.99 (about £1.10) actually goes to djpandora - doesn't Pocketgear take a significant lump?

Last I recall, about 60% of it goes to the developer.

Gee - that's a pretty steep charge. As the $1.99 is also subject to addition of Taxes (we have to add 17.5% in the UK) the actual bit that the developer gets is only about 50% of what the purchaser actually pays. For an initial charge of $1.99 it doesn't seem worth all the effort at all!

This is my personal opinion, but I think that despite whatever amount the developer gets in return and what extra taxes I have to pay, if that is the only avenue to support him/her, then it's a step worth taking. I'd prefer to do that than steal it off another site that may not even have the authority to host the work.
Now, the other question is, why isn't there another way to support the developer? Why hasn't he/she made their product available through a service with a better revenue distribution model (e.g., direct PayPal)? That's something only he/she knows. Obviously, he/she would have to have little problem with a service (in this case, PocketGear) if the product still remains on the catalog.

thaa is like buying a CD and saying $15 for a piece of plastic or a painting and saying $200 for a piece of paper.
but perhaps you think it is ridiculous for someone to be paid for their creative skills?

The problem is, that skins aren't supposed to be a pay thing. If you look at the PC skinning world, there are almost no paid skins with a very few exceptions. Yet, in the PPC world I see more and more payware skins.

Boy,do I feel like a sap. I bought the skin but the download won't allow you to open the file to complete the instillation. They have my money and I have no skin. I am awaiting an email response.
One of the cleanest skins I've ever seen and used - Totally worth a couple of bones. Congrats djpandora!
Wondering, djpandora, if you're reading this thread, if you plan on making it work in VGA landscape mode?
Thnx and keep up the good work!

Hello All!
I know I missed this thread by about 2 months, but I have been busy working on some updates for all of my skins.
First of all, I would like to thank everyone that has supported me by downloading this skin. I know that $1.99 seems like a lot, but it keeps me going the long hours needed to design and program these skins. Also, as stated, I only see about half of that 2 bucks. Our website will be opening soon, and hopefully I can start cutting out the middle man there.
Also, if anyone is having problems with any of my skins, feel free to contact me directly at
[email protected]
I have some exciting new things coming out in the near future, including landscape and square/phone versions of Tweak, and possibly a new skin around Christmas.
Thanks again for all of your support.
Sincerely,
Josh McKinney
