I need a way to recharge on the go, and I've seen Battery Extender for sale. It is a small unit that takes 4 AA batteries that you can use to recharge your PPC's battery 2.5 times with alkaline batteries.
I've read that using NiCD batteries with Battery Extenders is a bad idea because it's possible that the NiCD batteries can actually drain the PPC's battery instead of the other way around. What about NiMH batteries? We carry around a NiMH charger with us anyways to charge batteries for our digital camera, so if they work, it sounds like a good way to extend the life of my PPC between times when we have access to an outlet.
Does anyone know if this would work, and if it would, about how many times would a PPC be able to be charged from a set of 4 typical NiMH batteries?
