Upon greatly expanding the Dell Axim x50v/x51v VGA output (http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=1078&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1) article published yesterday with, among other things, country-specific Dell availability / ordering info, I’ve run into something that may really appeal to European Dell Axim x50v/x51v users that don’t refuse playing some really nice 3D-enabled games.
The “3D Game Bundle for Dell Axim X50/X51” bundle (including the great games Enigmo (http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=661&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1) and StuntCar Extreme (http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/menneisyys/102005MPPPCGames.asp); click the links for a review & comparison) costs only 7 euros (or the equivalent local money + local VAT + 11 euros for postage; the latter can be, naturally, combined with other items) in most West-European countries (except for Finland, Portugal and Grece). (Note that the CD that comes with the x51v already contains the full version of the former game but not the latter. The x50v CD doesn’t.)
While the American product page (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=310-6937) (inside the Software section (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/category.aspx?c=us&cs=dedhs1&l=en&s=dhs&sku=44599&category_id=6072&~ck=anav)) lists the game for $29.99 (with no additional shipping costs if you choose the “slowest”, 3-5 Day Delivery as opposed to the $12/$16 2nd/Next Business Day Delivery), this is a really nice price for this quality bundle.
The pages are as follows: German (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=de&l=de&s=dhs&cs=dedhs1&sku=44599) , Austrian (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=at&l=de&s=dhs&cs=atdhs1&sku=44599) , French (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=fr&l=en&s=dhs&cs=atdhs1&sku=44599) , Swedish (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=se&l=en&s=dhs&cs=atdhs1&sku=44599) , Danish (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=dk&l=en&s=dhs&cs=atdhs1&sku=44599) , Dutch (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=nl&l=en&s=dhs&cs=atdhs1&sku=44599) , Norwegian (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=no&l=en&s=dhs&cs=atdhs1&sku=44599) ; to see the other countries, just change ‘no’ in ‘c=no’ in the URL http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=no&l=en&s=dhs&cs=atdhs1&sku=44599 to the two-letter country code of your country.
Note that the bundle isn’t available in any non-Western European country (that is, the ex-Eastern block).
Finally, we Europeans have, in addition to the Fujitsu-Siemens PDA’s, something that is cheaper here than in the States...
