Ok...i need some opinions PLEASE!! I have had a 6700 since Feb. and have exchanged it like 7 times...different issues but this time the speaker went out and i couldnt hear anything so i took it back to verizon and they just told me to pick out another phone...no hassle or anything...i couldnt believe it but anyways, i picked out a moto Q and have had it overnight. The size and sound are a huge plus but there are less features and the touch screen on the 6700 is missed greatly...do any of you guys have any opinions on the switch or have another phone to recommend that could compete with the 6700?? thanks

i've had both, and like you missed the touch screen too much...plus there are MANY more apps and features that the pocket pc os supports over the smartphone.

In my opinion the htc tytn (non verizon) is all that can compete

The MotoQ uses WM5 Smartphone Edition right? That means you'll be shut out of the world of most PPC apps and have to settle for Smartphone equivalents (which may/may not affect you much depending on your needs). I'd pick a PPC Phone Edition over Smartphone anyday though. The problems you had with the 6700 seems like you just got a bad unit, as the 6700 is a very popular phone. Have you analyzed what other phones you can buy first of all? Does it have to be from Verizon?

yes i have to stay with verizon. The sales lady was telling me about the new "chocolate" that was coming out but i checked it out on their site and its more ipod than a ppc...im a full time student and have three kids so i definatly need a task manager...lol but the word and other apps on the 6700 were very useful and i was told the Q had word but after getting home with it i noticed that it doesnt have it.

Any cons as to the treo? i have the 15 day guarantee so i might just try a treo and see...if i dont like that than i guess ill try the 6700 AGAIN for the 8th time...i mean 1 or 2 bad phones maybe but 8?

Were most of your issues software-related or hardware? Anyhow, you can give the Treo a try. From my recollection, the drawbacks of the Treo 700w are square screen, slow processor, and no Wi-Fi. To most people, I'd assume no Wi-Fi would hurt more than the others but if that feature doesn't matter much to you (or you can purchase a Wi-Fi add-in card), then go ahead and give it a try.

In my opinion...don't try the treo. I just got one and returned it the next day...numerous soft resets...verz is supposed to be releasing ANOTHER ROM update for it soon which might fix the lockups. If you have to stay with verizon go 6700 ...IMO

well, i went and exchanged that Q for another 6700, left verizon, went straight to eat lunch and while i was eating i took a picture of my kids and noticed that there was a pixel out on the screen 8O  i head straight back to verizon and got another 6700...has anyone heard of this much trouble with these or is it just my BAD luck?
