The plugins provide new file format capabilities, support for new Bluetooth controls, button controls and Voice Command support."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/wey-20060719-PP.gif" /><br /><br />Well, here's a way to make a good product great. Conduits' WMP Plugin Adapter enables Pocket Player to utilise plug-ins designed for Windows Media Player. So, if you're a Bluetooth headphones junkie, you can now use AVRCP to control Pocket Player remotely. Those of you with Microsoft Voice Command installed can now start, stop, and select your media in Pocket Player in just a few words. There are a few other plug-ins available. You can learn more about them <a href="http://www.conduits.com/products/player/plugins.asp">here</a>.

It would be nice if they would work on reducing the memory size so that it could run on a Treo 700w... It is so memory intensive that the only thing the phone is good for when listening to music is -- listening to music. In fact, attempting to make a playlist bogs the TREO down so much that I end up just doing a soft reset and forgetting about listening to music.

I recently switched back to the latest version of PocketMusic...

Joseph,

Thank you for the comments. Next week will bring a new release of Pocket Player that is less memory intensive and will work better on all devices.

Anyone know if you can get the bluetooth controls to work with an iPaq 5555?

Cool deal with the plugins!

makic,

Have you tried out just the normal version of Pocket Player 2.72? The BT Headphone Controls plugin that is bundled there (that works with the Widcomm/Broadcom stack) should work with that device. The plugins released yesterday brought compatibility with the Microsoft Bluetooth stack.

I don't mean to turn this thread into a "I need help" post, but if Jason is answering questions, I'll go ahead and throw this out there:

One issue I've been having with Pocke Player is that after a track finishes, it doesn't move onto the next one. I've looked at the Advanced tab and there is a setting to advance to the next track manually, but I've toggled it on and off with no change. Is there another setting I should try?

victore,

We've found and fixed this problem for the next release. It was a combination of a couple of things including the podcast plugin and our handling of some files.

Don't feel bad Victore... we welcome any opportunity for a software company representative and the user community to work together for the betterment of the product itself (as long as the comments are constructive and relevant to the product being posted on). :D

I thought I was the only having this problem. I look forward to the next release.

Please, please, please, please make it an easy upgrade on WM5 devices!

Something like what WebIS does would be nice. ;)

ctmagnus,

How does WebIS do it? The upgrade can be installed ontop of the current version, either via a CAB installer or the desktop installer.

I don't know exactly how they do it, but their upgrades are smooth even on WM5 devices. They provide a diagram during desktop setup explaining how to upgrade the application you're upgrading without losing your previous settings, Windows Mobile complaining that it needs to uninstall the previous version first and then complaining that it can't uninstall the previous version...

I find that even if I follow those exact steps when installing other apps, I get the "must uninstall previous version... unable to uninstall previous version..." runaround.
