View Full Version : Pocket PC backup without installing softwares ?

Hi!

I tried a few softwares to make full or customized backups, they're great (Spb backup, Sprite, etc.) but they have all this problem: they leave things in the Pocket PC's registry.

What I'd need is a software that does a full backup, or clone of what's in the PPC's memory, dump that on a storage card and when this image is restored onto another PPC, there should be no sign of any backup softwares installed.

Any known software that can do that ?

Thanks alot!

SPB Clone (http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/clone/?en).

It does precisely what you want, but at a price!

And also, Sprite Clone (http://www.spritesoftware.com/clone.php). :)

The clone applications will make transferring setups from one device to another but I wouldn't call them "backup" apps. I haven't used the SPB product, but I know Sprite Clone is 100% PC-based; nothing gets installed on the Pocket PC.

Wow, thanks for the prompt replies guys, I'll have a look.

I already checked out Spb Clone, sounds good as far as I know. You just need to tell it to install it on the storage card and uninstall it from the PPC before cloning.

Spb Clone specially removes all Spb Clone relaeted file and registry keys during the process. So the device after cloning contains no information about Spb Clone even if Spb Clone was installed to the main memory.
