The new Recon X-Series gives users the option of integrated Bluetooth and 802.11g wireless capabilities, and it comes with Windows MobileŽ 5.0, the latest version of Microsoft's software for handheld devices... Like the original, the Recon X-Series meets the MIL-STD-810F military standard for drops, vibration and temperature extremes. It also has an IP67 rating, meaning it's impervious to water and dust."

Ruggedized PDAs fulfill a niche market demand for field workers who work in physically demanding conditions. TDS provides two models: one sports a 200MHz Intel XScale processor with 128MB of flash memory while their higher-end model sports a 400MHz processor nicely coupled with 256MB of flash memory. Both models include WiFi / Bluetooth connectivity as well as twin CompactFlash slots, typically needed for digital cameras, barcode scanners, etc. Prices were not specified but considering it's a ruggedized PDA with beefy specifications, I wouldn't expect this to be cheap.
