Hello all, what are you guys getting as your "total storage card memory" for your 2GB sd cards? I just upgraded to an ATP 2GB SD and it's showing 1940.13MB on my hp4150. where has my 60MB gone?? :? For comparision, My Lexar 256MB card showed 243.15MB total.

Megabytes and gigabytes are defined slightly differently by software and by hardware. For a hard drive or memory manufacturer, 2 GB means 2,000,000,000 bytes. Software, such as an operating system, defines 2 GB as 2,147,483,648 bytes. This is 1024 bytes in 1 KB, 1024 KB in a MB, and 1024 MB in 1 GB. Because they count differently, the OS sees less storage on a card than the label would indicate. Thus, the OS sees about 1953 MB on the card. Another area of space is taken up by the file system and allocation tables, which are invisible to you, but still eat up space. You're left with about 1940 MB user-accessible space.
